I tried working around this problem by setting Gmail to not show the All Messages folder in IMAP, but then I couldn't archive messages using the Archive button. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Receive a new message in the Inbox. 2. Mark the message as "read." 3. Get a new email. 4. Because the message is not marked "read" in the All Mail folder, that message takes up a slot on the notification box that pops up, preventing me from seeing the subject headers for emails that really are new. Actual Results: The problem is that these "unread" messages are presented in the notification boxes every time a new message is delivered to the Inbox, which prevents the user from seeing notifications for mail that really is unread. This causes two problems: 1. There are two notifications for every one email received. 2. The second notification takes up a slot in the notification pop-up. Expected Results: When a message is marked as "read" in the Inbox it should also be marked as "read" in the All Mail folder.
